When you think of Blues music in the roots genre there is one name that comes to mind first… Husky Burnette.  The one and only Husky Burnette makes his first appearance in the dirty stalls of It Burns When I Pee. In the interview we talk about his new album “Tales From East End Blvd”. We also discuss how he got connected with Rusty Knuckles Music, touring, and of course we couldn’t leave out his recent engagement. It Burns When I Pee Episode #0108 “An Interview with Danny Kay and The Nightlifers”

In mid July I was lucky enough to have Danny Kay and The Nightlifers crash at my place while they were coming through town on their way to Farm Fest 2013. After their gig in Pekin Illinois at the High Note Danny and I sat down at 1:30am and did an interview. Danny and I talk about how he got into Rockabilly, song writing, Kickstarter, and his new album Crazy Lonesome Blues. Rorie (the IBWIP mascot) even joins the interview. It’s a great time and I am sure that you will enjoy getting to know Danny Kay a little better.

Jay, Chad, and Jim sat down with us in the green room and we talked about the band, hockey, friendship, and their new album Undertow. It Burns When I Pee Episode #0106 “An Interview with Joey Allcorn”

In this episode, we feature an interview with our long time friend Joey Allcorn. Joey is putting together a CD project to benefit The Hank Williams Museum. It’s a really interesting project that includes artist such as Jake Penrod, Rachel Brooke, and many more. In the interview we also discuss “Nothin Left To Prove” which is a new album that Joey has in the works as well as his involvement with the “Outlaws Still At Large” book by Neil Alexander Hamilton.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0104 “An Interview with Joey Henry”

In the six years I have been doing IBWIP, there have been only a handful of times where I have walked away for interview and knew that it was perfect. This interview is one of those times. I was honored to have Joey Henry inside the dirty stalls of IBWIP. Most of you know Joey as the singer/banjo player of The Calamity Cubes, but he also has a solo career as Joey Henry’s Dirty Sunshine Club.

In the interview, Joey and I discuss everything from pinball, sobriety, photography, and of course his upcoming release called, “The Eyes and Ears Around Us Vol #1 and Vol #2”. Joey is an amazing songwriter, musician, and most of all he is an amazing person. I hope that you enjoy this interview as much as I enjoyed doing it.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0103 “An Interview with Kara Clark”

We have had a lot of return guests on IBWIP over the years, but Kara Clark is one of our favorites. Kara has a new self titled album, a new label, and a new career plan. So we put on our sunglasses, opened a box of wine, and brought her back into the dirty stalls of It Burns When I Pee. In the interview we talk about social media, her hatred for her own song Highway, and her famous lazy dog Baxter. Kara talks about her new relationship with Rusty Knuckles and their vision on how to develop her career. She describes the events that lead her to writing the song “Wake Up”.  We also discuss her dream of having her own line of wine and our good friend Chris Miller from Blue Ribbon Radio.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0101 “An Interview with Brett Conlin”

In this episode of IBWIP, we were lucky enough to have Brett Conlin in the studio. He is not only a good friend but he is a very good singer and songwriter. This interview is a little different than most we have done in the studio though. Brett and I sit on the couch and talk about everything from becoming a father, the worst gig he ever played, his music, and him shartting his pants… twice! It’s a really relaxed interview and a really good time. Brett plays his songs Hard Hard Life as well as Pine Box. It Burns When I Pee Episode #0098 “An Interview with Aran Buzzas”

In this episode of IBWIP we interview singer/songwriter Aran Buzzas. His new CD entitled “3-7-77” has just been released and we thought this would be a great time to finally have him on the show. Aran has been a long time friend of IBWIP as well as Silent Storm Radio. In the interview, we discuss the meaning behind the title of the CD, his performance at MoonRunners 2013 and Farm Fest 2012, being a baker, and his life in Montana. It’s an honor to have Aran as a friend and it was great finally having him on the show. His passion for the songs that he writes is obvious and we know you won’t be disappointed.
