We have known Rachel Brooke for years and she has been on IBWIP more times than any other artist… EVER! This time she joins us to talk about her song, “Death Watch Blues” which also features Lonesome Wyatt. The song is on their album “Bad Omen”. It was great to catch up with Rachel and discuss songwriting, following up “A Bitter Harvest”, and more. We talk about what inspired “Death Watch Blues” as well as the collaboration process between her and Lonesome Wyatt. We talk about touring, and her upcoming 7” record. It’s always great to have Rachel on the show. She is an amazing singer and songwriter and well worth checking out.

IBWIP Episode #0195 “Purple Pound Town”

In this episode Locks Of Love Jason and Blake welcome back Negative Nick and the artist formally known as The Voice to the show. Intern Heather is in New York City so the boys get out of control. Dustin gets a new nickname and Blake thanks High Voltage Vaporz for the 120ml bottle (and story behind it). The guys breakout a 4 pack of Purple Passion and Blake drinks a new Dewshine from Mountain Dew.

In IBWIP News the guys talk about the new ashes of a loved one in your vibrator, Blake not being able to do math even for pizza, and Blake might have to put a Zorro mask to make some money for the family. We also discuss getting your baby’s face tattooed on your face. We bring you EP7 of the IBWIP Spaghetti Western and you will be shocked at what happens. We also play Locks Of Loves favorite game, It Burns When I Sing. During the game the scoring is questioned, Locks Of Love doesn’t know about One Direction and Dustin gets stumped by Baby Metal. In this episode Locks of Love Jason, Intern Heather, Blake, and The Voice discuss some fan feedback that upset Blake. We also have the 6th installment of the IBWIP Spaghetti Western during which Blake can’t keep it together. During celebrity birthdays Dustin sings the intro and Blake finds out his list is deadly.

We welcome Mara Moonstone to the show. She talks about her holistic healing rocks, The Walla Rock, and tells the listeners how they can get one. Dustin wants to rename crazy straws, and Jason fights to keep Dustin and Blake in control during the interview. I believe there are about 48 “rock puns” during the interview. The leaves are falling and the winds are turning cool. That can only mean one thing… It’s time for IBWIP to present their Halloween extravaganza! In this episode we spin brand new music from Lonesome Wyatt and The Holy Spooks and Sons of Perdition. We also play music from Those Poor Bastards, The Pine Box Boys, The Goddamn Gallows, and the one and only Ralph Stanley. Of course, these all have a little evil Halloween feel to them.

In this episode Blake, Nick, and Jason discuss their plans for Halloween. All we will indulge is that Nick says Satan is good for making pies, Blake hates children, and Jason is dressing up like a naughty nurse. Jason also shares some amazing fact about Halloween that will have you scratching your head. During Fan Feedback Nick explains in detail about his underwear preference and Blake talks about a video he recently saw.

While Blake is upstairs getting lucky, Nick and Jason welcome Carmella Fettuccini into the studio. She has a very interesting take on Halloween Safety. And finally the guys somehow come up with a new way to rate fat people. Happy Halloween everyone. Be safe and enjoy the show.

IBWIP NEWS JULY 30th

Well as hopefully you all know we just released EP27 “BITTER” last Friday. Our featured guest(s) were Rachel Brooke and Lonesome Wyatt. Go to www.ibwip.com and download it today!

We are also excited to announce that Joey Allcorn will be featured on EP28. This will be our first “Mini-Pee” episode. It will feature an interview with Joey, 5 of his songs, and good ol Blake trying to carry a show without the crew. We will have a special guest in the studio to talk about the JDF, which we are trying to raise money for, and to talk about the walk that IBWIP will be partisipating in come September. This episode will be released on Aug 10th.

We will also be having another episode in August that will feature the lovely and talented Chelsea McBee. If you have never heard of her your in for a big ol West Virgina treat! Well we knocked the rust off the mixer (and it shows) and are back to bring you EP27 of It Burns When I Pee. This episode features a DOUBLE interview with Rachel Brooke and Lonesome Wyatt to promote their new album “A BITTER HARVEST”. We chat with each of them to get their take on the project and play a couple songs from the album. It was great having them both back on the show. If you haven’t went and ordered the CD yet, your missing out.

In this episode Norma Jean and Blake discuses online dating, come up with a new term for oral sex, and we make a few phone calls. One of these calls was to Blake’s mom and it was funny as hell! We also have a featured interview with Kara Clark. She is a talented singer/songwriter and it was great having her on the show. We will be playing a couple of her songs along with songs from Highlonesome, Robbie Fulks, David Allan Coe, Misery Jackel, and a song from Wayne “The Train” Hancock’s new album Viper of Melody.

As always, Norma Jean reads some fan feedback… the difference this time is that she is sober! Yes it’s true, Norma Jean records her first ever episode of IBWIP without her famous bottle of wine. Don’t worry though guys, she still gives up an “interesting” fact about herself.

Along with some online dating tips (IBWIP Style) you will hear about Asian mail order brides (Yes Blake is still looking into that), an online dating success story from Matt and Liz, and we even talk about “boy shorts!” It was a great time and if you missed the recording session on Pee-A-Vision you also missed out on another Norma Jean Cam (which is only available to live viewers on Pee-A-Vision). And finally we give a preview of EP27 in May. It will be our two year anniversary and will also be our last show.
